AIK is heading to Piteå for a match in division 1. Despite two divisional differences, the players warn against underestimation. "If we make a flat match, they can hurt us," says Yannick Geiger. Kevin Filling about the trip north: "Snow! No, I'm joking." A big and clear derby win against Djurgården last time. On Thursday evening, AIK faces Piteå at their home ground. Piteå IF plays in Ettan norra and is currently last in the series. Their last win in the league came in May, and they have not won a single match at home this season. It's no problem to reload, says Abdihakim Ali. – It's two matches. It's just a bit more crowd, that's all. The truth is that it's a bit more crowd on a derby match. It's bigger. But against Piteå, we need to win. We need to get three points. That's just to go there and win the match. ## Risk of underestimation: "It's clear" The key seems to lie in treating matches exactly like any other Allsvenskan match. It's not possible to take it lightly. – We will look at them exactly like we would look at an Allsvenskan team. We will take the match exactly like we would take the derby match. We need to win regardless. So we will do exactly the same preparations for that match. ## Is there a risk that you underestimate Piteå? – Yes, it's clear that there is a risk. But everyone is aware of that risk. They are not a bad football team, Piteå. It's clear that if we make a real flat match, they can hurt us. So we must take the preparations very seriously, says Yannick Geiger. Wilmer Olofsson played in Ettan last year. Then he was on loan to Eskilstuna. But he has never met Piteå, they are newcomers this year. – I have continued to keep an eye on Ettan and see a few matches. They are a good opposition. We are humble in front of the task. We will go there and make a good match. Every match is equally important, says AIK-midfielder Wilmer Olofsson. ## Kevin Filling: "Glad we don't take the bus" Kevin Filling's first reaction when asked about a away match against Piteå is that it's far away. He tells that he has never been that far north before. What he expects? – Snow! No, I'm joking. It's good that we don't take the bus anyway. We take a plane, so it's a bit faster. It's quite far up, says Filling. The match then? – It will be fun. It will be a tough opposition, even if they play two divisions lower. ## Piteå is a bottom team in division 1. If you look at it from the outside, it should be an easy match for you? – Such matches are usually tough. They will want to do everything to beat us. It's up to us to hold our highest level and continue to build on what we have done. We need to win. It's no discussion, says Filling. In AIK's match squad, several players are missing. Some are injured, others are simply not selected. Among the injured is the new signing Diogo Tomàs. AIK is in 4th place in Allsvenskan with 28 points after 17 matches. They have scored 25 goals and conceded 25 goals. It's 14 points behind the leaders Sirius. The next match is at home against IFK Göteborg on October 18th.
