AIK have officially completed the signing of Loreta Kullashi. The 28-year-old forward returns to the Solna club after five years abroad, penning a deal until 2028.

What Kullashi’s return means for AIK

Loreta Kullashi previously played for AIK between 2015 and 2017 before moving on to FC Rosengård. She has since represented clubs like Inter, Sassuolo, Napoli and most recently FC Badalona. Her overseas experience makes her a valuable asset for AIK in the Damallsvenskan, where she can play across all offensive positions.

AIK’s sporting director Zinar Spindari praised Kullashi’s qualities. – She’s a U- to A-player who’s had adventures abroad but is now coming home. She’s a skilled player in the final third and we’re really looking forward to seeing her in the black and yellow shirt again, Spindari said via the club’s statement.

Why this signing matters for AIK

Kullashi herself expressed great joy at the return. – It’s always been a dream for me to come back to AIK. The timing feels right and I’m looking forward to getting started, she said. Her arrival bolsters AIK’s attacking options ahead of the upcoming season.

AIK’s women’s team is currently battling in the Damallsvenskan, sitting seventh with four points from two games. They’ve scored four goals and conceded three, with a plus-one goal difference. Before their next fixture against Djurgårdens IF on 16 August 2026, AIK have a chance to pick up crucial points in the race for a top finish.

What happens next?

Kullashi will now be integrated into the squad ahead of upcoming matches. Her ability to play across multiple offensive positions gives the coach more attacking options. The club’s sporting leadership hopes her experience and skill will help deliver success in both league and cup competitions.

With Kullashi on board, AIK have strengthened their position in the Damallsvenskan. They sit three points behind league leaders IF Elfsborg and face a tough but important match against Djurgårdens IF. A win could give AIK a real lift up the table.
