AIK is responding to reports that AC Omonia Nicosia has agreed to a permanent transfer with Aris Limassol for Andronikos Kakoullis. According to AIK, the player still belongs to the Allsvenskan club. AIK's recruitment manager Miika Takkula says that the club is very surprised by the information that has emerged. Kakoullis was loaned out to Aris Limassol on July 22, 2025, and the loan agreement runs until July 9, 2026. AIK emphasizes that the conditions for a permanent transfer have not yet been met and that the player therefore remains under the club's control. Andronikos Kakoullis is an important player for AIK and the club wants to secure his future. AIK's statement is clear and straightforward: Aris Limassol FC has no right to transfer the player's contract to another club. Miika Takkula says that AIK still owns the rights to the player and no club has the opportunity to acquire a player from a club to which he is loaned with more than a permanent transfer having taken place. AIK will continue to follow the situation and secure the player's future.
