AIK star Pavel Chomtjenko has left HK Sotji in the KHL and becomes clubless ahead of the upcoming season. Chomtjenko won the HockeyAllsvenskan's best goaltender title in 2021/22 with AIK and was one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He played first for Admiral Vladivostok and then for Avangard Omsk before moving to CSKA Moscow and finally to HK Sotji last year. There he established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the league and was a clear first-choice goalkeeper for Sotji. He had 91.5% save percentage and 2.97 GAA in 50 games in the previous KHL season. However, it will not be a continuation in the club for Chomtjenko. HK Sotji announces that the goalkeeper leaves when his contract expires. Pavel Chomtjenko thus becomes clubless ahead of the upcoming season. It is still unclear where the goalkeeper will play next season.
