AIK have been on the hunt for a new midfielder and have now found their man in Johan Hove from FC Groningen. According to reports, AIK and FC Groningen have agreed on the signing of the Norwegian midfielder. Hove has been on his way out of the club in the winter and now looks set to continue his career at AIK in the spring. AIK have had a busy winter with several new signings, including Jere Uronen, Kazper Karlsson, and Filip Benkovic. Hove has 24 U21 caps and three goals to his name. He has made 125 appearances for Strömsgodset and 29 appearances for Sogndal. Groningen signed the player from Strömsgodset in January 2023. There are just a few details left to iron out before the paperwork and everything surrounding the deal is in place. As long as everything goes according to plan, the 24-year-old is expected to undergo a medical in the coming week. AIK's coach has been clear that the team needs to strengthen the midfield and Hove looks like the right man for the job.
